‘FROM THE SKY’ WINS AT EFF 2015
‘From the Sky’ took home the award for Best Short Film at the Ellensburg Film Festival this month. The 11th annual gathering selected the film out of a highly regarded roster of domestic and international shorts. The historic city previously served as the home base for the ‘From the Sky’ production team during principal photography. The win marks the 12th time ‘From the Sky’ has earned a trophy since it premiered at the Newport Beach Film Festival on April 30, 2014.

‘From the Sky’ will likely close out its Washington State film festival run when it plays as an Official Selection of the eighth annual Gig Harbor Film Festival. ‘FROM THE SKY’ FINDS SOUTHEASTERN U.S. PREMIERE AT ILLUSTRIOUS SAVFF
The Savannah Film Festival (SAVFF) has named ‘From the Sky’ as one of only 10 short films to screen In Competition as part of the ‘Pro Shorts’ category at the 18th annual event. This year’s gathering will feature high-profile film screenings, panels hosted by The Hollywood Reporter, and tributes for attending filmmakers including Olivia Wilde, Saoirse Ronan, and Meg Ryan. Previous festival honorees range from Alexander Payne to Roger Ebert and Sidney Lumet. ‘FROM THE SKY’ LANDS IN WISCONSIN FOR MOVIEMAKER ‘COOLEST FILM FESTIVAL’
‘From the Sky’ will screen as an Official Selection of the eighth annual Flyway Film Festival, which accepted only 53 films from more than 2,400 submissions. The prominent Midwest gathering was named one of the 25 coolest film festivals in the world by MovieMaker Magazine in 2014. This is the third time ‘From the Sky’ will play the Midwest states, following Official Selections at the Tallgrass Film Festival in Wichita, Kansas and the Chicago International Social Change Film Festival in Illinois. TACOMA FILM FESTIVAL CHOOSES ‘FROM THE SKY’
‘From the Sky’ will screen twice at the 10th annual Tacoma Film Festival, which was named one of ’50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee’ by MovieMaker Magazine for the second consecutive year in 2015. The well-regarded festival also hosts the ’25 New Faces of Independent Film’ in partnership with Filmmaker Magazine, a leading industry periodical. ‘From the Sky’ plays with other short films in the ‘Local Flavor Part 1’ block on Tuesday, October 13th at 5PM and Wednesday, October 14th at 8PM. ‘FROM THE SKY’ RETURNS TO WA FOR ELLENSBURG FILM FESTIVAL
‘From the Sky’ will play its sixth home state festival as an Official Selection of the 11th annual Ellensburg Film Festival in Central Washington. PROMINENT CANADIAN FILM FESTIVAL SELECTS ‘FROM THE SKY’
The 29th annual Edmonton International Film Festival has named ‘From the Sky’ an Official Selection of its 2015 event, and will screen the film together with other shorts on October 2nd at the Landmark Cinemas City Centre 9 in downtown Edmonton. The long-running film festival, located in the capital of Canada’s Alberta province, was named one of ’50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee’ by MovieMaker Magazine in 2015, and has hosted filmmakers ranging from Werner Herzog to Norman Jewison.
This will be the second international screening for the multi-award winning 'From the Sky' following the film’s international premiere at the 2015 Victoria Film Festival, which also made MovieMaker Magazine’s list of ’50 Film Festivals Worth the Entry Fee’ in 2015.

'From the Sky' took home the top honors at the 17th annual Spokane International Film Festival. The jury, made up from the board of directors, programmers and various area film educators and professionals gave the film the Gold SpIFFy for Best Mid-Length Film, while writer/director Ian Ebright won the jury's award for Most Promising Filmmaker. Elsewhere, festival filmgoers voted 'From the Sky' the Best of the NW Short, earning the film the Audience Award. 'From the Sky' managed a total of three awards at the prominent Eastern Washington festival; more than any other officially selected film this year.

Mohamad Tamimi has won Best Supporting Actor from The Short Film Awards for his performance in 'From the Sky.' ‘FROM THE SKY’ NOMINATED FOR ANNUAL CASTING AWARD
The Casting Society of America has nominated Stephen Salamunovich for his work with writer/director Ian Ebright and producer Jess Grant in casting ‘From the Sky.’ Salamunovich is a Seattle-based casting director with credits including ‘The Details’ (Tobey Maguire, Elizabeth Banks, Laura Linney) and ’21 & Over.’ The nomination places ‘From the Sky’ as one of five short films in the race for the 2014 Excellence in Casting award. The film stars Maz Siam (Argo, The Mindy Project, Scandal), Mohamad Tamimi, Steven Soro, and Georges Chalhoub.
The winner will be announced before the end of the year at an awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

‘FROM THE SKY’ WINS INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN AWARD AT RIIFF 2014!
‘From the Sky’ took home the International Humanitarian Award Grand Prize at the Rhode Island International Film Festival’s awards ceremony held in Providence on August 10. Now in its 18th year, the Oscar-qualifying annual festival selected the narrative short film for the top humanitarian prize out of 250 screened films and 5,400 submissions. ‘FROM THE SKY’ FINDS EAST COAST PREMIERE AT RHODE ISLAND INT’L FF
'From the Sky' has been selected out of 5,000 submissions to screen at the 18th annual Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF), which populated its upcoming 2014 event with films from over 60 countries. Like SIFF in Seattle, RIIFF is an Oscar-qualifying festival.

SIFF names 'From the Sky' as Official Selection!
Following the world premiere of ‘From the Sky’ at the Newport Beach Film Festival in late April, 'From the Sky' will have its Northwest premiere at the Seattle International Film Festival (SIFF), where it has been chosen as an Official Selection for the annual event now in its 40th year. SIFF is the most well attended film festival in the United States, expecting to host 160,000 filmgoers from May 15- June 8. The festival presents more than 400 films from 70 countries.
‘From the Sky’ will screen with other locally produced short films on Sunday, May 25th at 11AM. ‘From the Sky’ will be presented via Digital Cinema Package, a high-quality format intended for theater exhibition.
